address on said grounds, unloading went well without a glitz, even overcoming the crossing of the idling, muddy waters of the creek tother side was attained and into arena with well orchestrated aplume! SIGH! Fresh treats and water were aplenty and all was well, was well except those tails...an abhorrence if there ever was one! Oh MY GOODNESS, the knife? scissors? brush and comb? NEVER! Managed to save over half, fudging, nearly 2/3 a tail?? Does this count? YES! It Does!

This was only attained after the humungous horseflys were attended to, Grab the Bounce dryer sheets, always good in a pinch! All tasks accomplished in increments throughout this beautiful sunny day of 84 degrees. Now,FOR THE FIRST RIDE! slowly, ever so slowly, haltering went well when onloading, leading went as well, remember the muddy creek crossings? Now the bridle, after thorough adjustments, this is the biggest horse, ever ridden by above mentioned person, letting the bridle out to its limits and it is on, and now saddle blanket, easy, easy, on to the saddle with daughter Laurel's hefty lift and takes both of us to let the saddle out to its absolute limits bearly making it around "Buddy"'s girth, did I forget to mention his name, BUDDY the very LARGE sorrel and white PAINT with sister GOLDIE, a PALAMINO, of course. We will now......RIDE! The wisest choice for a Grandma of over 60 would be to let the teenager wing it! Think? OH YEAH! Laurel gingerly climbs aboard and is lead around the arena by above said person, "Mab" the Irish Lassie in Melrose. Buddy starts out well, but soon becomes reluctant especially when Goldie is being given treats to stay our of our path and hair. All right, all right we say, time for Mab's venture around the arena. First problem is the mount, with one leg higher than her head clamboring is the ONLY way to go, SHE MAKES IT ABOARD. We are off and and walking, we make the necesarry rounds and accomplish our first 30 minute ride of the 30 DAY RIDE! WHEW! Tommorrow is another day! To be met and conquered!
